Sharing the Good Things in Life

One of the things I love most about the creative community is how generous people are.  Last week I was invited to a card workshop at my friend Dawn's home.  I met a really sweet spirited group of ladies, we laughed, created, shared recipes and ideas.  I left with new friends and a few new cards.  What fun.  If you ever have the opportunity to participate in something like that, you really should.  Even if you're not a "card maker" or "scrapbooker" you might be surprised at what you end up with.

I try to get together as often as possible with my creative buddies.  We talk, work on projects and just share life's good and sometimes not so great moments.  Which leads me to this post....

Sharing:   • to give a portion of (something) to another or others:
• use, occupy, or enjoy (something) jointly with another or others

This stamp was shared with me and I just love it.  The sentiment says it all,  don't you think?

Be With Those Who Help Your Being.    ~Rumi

If you don't have those type of friends in your life, you really should think about finding them.  They are out there.    Thank you Kristin G. for the use of this stamp and for your friendship.
I added a few photos  below of what I came up with using this wood block stamp and some beautiful paper by K & Company.  The  die cut embellishments are also K & Company.

Thanks for taking a minute to read my thoughts...Enjoy your day!

Get Moving!

Pedal, Pedal...

This is the third year that Joe and I have participated in the MS 150 challenge and boy are my legs feeling it this month.  This year's event is on September 10 & 11 right here in our beautiful little town.   New Bern has been hosting this event for many years and they do a great job.

Today I rode 22 miles (not even close to 75 that I'm training for) but it was a gorgeous morning and I really enjoyed myself out there.  I try to keep in mind that I'm fortunate enough to be able to ride my bicycle and that helps me stay focused on why I'm doing this fund raiser in the first place.

I'm hoping to exceed my goal of $500 this year.   The chart says I'm at 39% right now so it looks like I need to get busy collecting.  {{ Go HERE to donate. }}

              PS...yes...I'm gladly accepting donations.

Celebrating Birthdays

My calendar seems to be LOADED with one birthday after another this summer. This week was a big card week for me.  Several birthdays and a new stamp set...can't go wrong there. Thing is....I just LOVE birthdays, as long as they aren't mine. { I can only handle that once a year. }  I actually don't mind that I'm getting older. I am feeling more at ease with life in general the older I get.  Ok, ok...back to the post.  This one is short and sweet...I've got a cake to bake!

I was going to try a sketch challenge this week, but never got that far.
I came up with these, using this set (above) instead. Click HERE for more info.
