Vintage Santa Gift Card Holders

Following the lead of my friend Dawn...I decided to try my hand at gift card holders for the upcoming craft show. Thanks for letting me learn from you, Dawney! You can see her work over at Jade Mingmei Designs.

These are really fun and make that gift card feel extra special. They are blank inside and there is room for a nice little note.

This patterened paper is by K & Co. I picked it up this weekend at one of the "black Friday" sales...this one happened to be at Michael's. I have to give Big Joe a huge kudos for hanging out with me while I walked around in a turkey induced fog...eyes glazed over...looking at paper and embelishments. But...but...they were having such a good sale, right?!

I also hate to admit that I bought this whole pad mainly because I love this Santa...he's just adorable. I always tend to end up back toward the vintage/country look with my papercrafts. I'm fairly inexperienced at crafting, but I have heard that you should stay true to *you* and you'll be less frustrated. I like to step out of the box as long as I can sneak back into my comfy ways!

The red card stock is from MFT. It's called 'Wild Cherry'. I will be placing an order really soon for more solid cardstock. You'll also see that tiny bit of Kraft card stock that seems to be EVERYWHERE lately. If you have a favorite, I'd love to know what it is.

I picked up the cute gingham from our local store. It's a light beige and goes well with the vintage look of the santas. {{The same store who happens to be the location of the craft show this weekend. Scrap 'N Oasis.}}

It's almost daylight...time to get my second cup of coffee and get busy.

Have a wonderful day today...

Snowman Kisses

Who doesn't love a snowman smooch?
I saw this project when I was browsing and had to try it. These guys turned out so much cuter than I thought they would! I came across them as I was doing a search for some fun & tasty things for the craft show.

I am amazed
at how adorable they really are now that I completed a few. What a great little holiday treat. I put together 6 of these last night. These are two of my favorites...

"Snowman Kisses" are actually Tic Tacs in the large box covered with paper, stamped with Papertrey Ink "Made of Snow"and adorned with a ribbon and any other embellishments you choose.

I have directions for this project if you are interested drop me an email or post. Have a wonderful day.

How about just Goddess?!

Domestic Goddess is the line from Graphic 45. I am in LOVE with this paper collection. My biggest problem is that I didn't buy enough of it. I think that every woman is a goddess, don't you?!

Die-Namic scalloped edges at the bottom really added the texture I was hoping for. I used my MFT cardstock in Wild Cherry for accent colors and for the cards below. I'm all over the place on this particular post, but the pattern you see under the This & That is a stamp from CTMH called intrinsic backgrounds. The This & That stamp...Papertrey Ink. My first investment with PTI. Can't wait to get MORE!

All three of these cards are blank inside and perfect for a "thinking of you" type of day.

My schedule is full today, but...I was thinking, sure...you can get on there and look around at a few blogs and post your latest entry really quick. Here I am an hour later. Gotta run. Make your day a great one wherever you are!

P.S. I decided to enter Sandy's Challenge, my first one actually. Her challenge is to use one of her frames as inspiration. I added this altered note pad that goes along with my post. {{It's more Graphic 45 .}} Sandy's "Home Girl" frame is the inspiration I chose for this challenge. Us women can do * anything * AND make it look easy. The die cut I used has the muscles to prove it.

Be sure to check out Sandy's blog for more details on her challenge.

Are you ready for the holidays?

This altered note pad was so much fun, it's simple...but boy I think it turned out pretty cute! I used a note pad from the $ bin at Michael's and added some Holiday flair and voila!

I'm on a deadline for my first real Craft Fair. December 3 & 4 @ Scrap 'N Oasis (1244 U.S. Hwy 70 E New Bern, NC).......but first....

I will be helping my sweet friend Dawn with her beautiful work at the Craft Show on Camp Lejeune. Mark your calendars for this one! November 20th 9:30 am - 6pm and November 21st 12pm - 4pm.

More Note Pads???? You know it!

Today was a beautiful day in Eastern, NC. Sunny and cool, the leaves are falling like crazy and as I woke up and thought about what I should be doing today...craft or raking leaves?? Hmmm, guess which option I picked?

This Graphic 45 paper has been calling my name since I visited Archiver's a few weeks ago in Raleigh. *Domestic Goddess* is the collection...I'm crazy about the retro styles and colors. There is so much to do with just one page of die cuts and one sheet of paper. I used hardware from Stampin' Up and the gold ribbon came from AC Moore's clearance section. I think that I'll work on some post it covers with the rest of my "scraps". I'm getting nervous about my first craft show on December 3 & 4 at Scrap 'N Oasis in James City, NC...hope I can pull it off ...wish me luck!

45 Days 'til Christmas!

Maybe I shouldn't have posted that Christmas counter on my blog, eh?

As I noticed that there were only 45 days left this morning I almost started a panic attack! *kidding* Not sure about you, but my life has been busy beyond belief. All good things, though, so no complaints. I only wish I had more energy to stay up and create in the evenings.

I came up with this set for a friend as a swap. She is making me a few items and I'm going to send her these as "payment" I hope it's not considered rude to post them first but I wanted to get an update on here before I sign off this computer for the day and get busy.

The papers are from Basic Grey. They are just so cute and whimsical. Not sure if you can tell but some of the embellishments are fabric. {{I'm still working on my photography skills.}}

I made a set of 4 cards, a gift tag and a little paper gift bag. A nice present for someone or great to have the extra cards on hand "just in case".
This is a short and sweet update, but I truly do have a LONG list of *TO DO* today.

I hope whatever it is you are doing, it's something that makes you smile.

Coffee Makes Me Hoppy!

Not sure about you, but I can't start my day without it. Iced, Hot, Frappe'd...you name it I gotta have it. I think this stamp from MFT is perfect with the Starbucks Via and Lindor Truffles added for sweetness. I got the box at Michael's for $1 and used Memory Makers paper and ribbon to cover it. Copic pens filled in the bunny and stickles make the slippers just a little sassy. I think this is a perfect gift for any coffee drinker and the box can be reused.

I hope you are getting started on your holiday shopping and preparations. I'm WAY behind schedule this year.

Have a "hoppy" day!
